Can I buy any gear in Thailand?
PDF Print E-mail

Certain motorbike gear can be bought in Chiang Mai but European standard gear will cost more than in your own country!  There are many manufacturers (mostly Chinese) that sell motorbike gear here in Thailand and to be fair for the price most of it is actually good quality.  jackets and Trousers, knee pads, arm pads etc can all be bought in Chiang Mai however please make sure you arrive in Chiang Mai allowing yourself plenty of time to buy anything you may need.

We do have some gear available to use but we cannot guarantee sizes and we don't have multiple stocks of everything so most people prefer to bring over their own gear to guarantee the quality and the fit.  Be sure to read the full article below.

We have limited stock of motorbike helmets, goggles, gloves, body protection and jackets.  Please tell us what you may need from us and we will hold whatever we can for you but please understand we cannot guarantee the quality as they have been worn by many riders on our tours and the sizes may not fit you correctly.

Where do I store my luggage when touring?

Where a support truck is not available we supply a 30 liter ocean pack compression bag for use on tour.  This pack will sit easily onto the back of your bike and carrys a large amount of gear that compresses down very small and 100% waterpoof!  Any remaining luggage not needed on tour can be left in our chiang Mai hotel safe and secure.

What They Said

Cathy and I talked about this trip on the way home, and we're both in agreement that this Thailand trip has been the most fun out of all we've taken.  Every aspect of it was enjoyable. You guys were not only professional, but totally cool to hang out with, riding or not.  I particularly enjoyed the informal history lessons for every area we rode through.  And we would both like to thank you for encouraging us out of our comfort zone (street), and onto the dirt roads.  I'm starting to feel like street riding is  fun and cool, but off-road would be a lot more fun!

I hope having two female riders hasn't discouraged you off from having more in the future.  Honestly, I was kind of worried that we would not be tough enough for you guys, or that we'd whine too much about girl things, like bugs.  I'm definitely coming back for another ride, and I'm going to take off-road lessons!
