Manufactured Tourism

The tourism industry can be a double edge sword and known to either make or break a local community in terms of ecology, financial. also human and animal rights issues.  Traveling to a remote region in a far flung corner of the world to see and do things that you would never normally have the opportunity to do at home is at the top of most travelers lists however it is also very important that tourists understand the often damaging affects they can have on the local communities they visit however,  getting the knowledge of what you should and shouldn't do can be a laborious task.

The ultimate responsibility should be down to the tour company you are traveling to make sure your tour has a positive affect on the local community by not benefiting tourist spots that may have an ulterior motive to gain the tourist dollar.

Animal/Human Rights Issues

Motorbike Thailand tour groups do not benefit certain 'Tourist spots' that are known to have human and animal rights issues.  This can be tourists attractions that ask an entrance fee to view Humans or animals purely for the tourist income without a clear and transparent motive for welfare.  This also includes tourists attractions used as a front for illegal trafficking (such as many of the worlds unscrupulous zoos).  Motorbike Thailand also avoid tourist spots that we know or believe to have political motives for income generated through tourism.

You can be rest assured our team will ensure you have a positive affect on the people animals and places you visit when you are with us in Northern Thailand.

What They Said

Had an absolute blast on the 6 day, duel terrain, tour with Motorbike Thailand. Had our limits thoroughly explored and often breached! (All in a controlled and comfortable manner, I hasten to add!) The local knowledge of Andy and our legendary guide, Eak, was invaluable. We went to places not many tourists had ever gone before! (Shan State Army Forever!) We were incredibly proud, if slightly muddy, pioneers! Starting at a reasonable hour every morning, we managed to finish in plenty of time to make it to the pub's/bar's/club's/people's front room etc, for our evening rehydration! Never had a bad day's riding, Thailand was stunning and did not disappoint on any level! The little Kwak's served us well, despite trying every possible terrain!! Thank you Motorbike Thailand, will probably see you again sometime! ( Colin handy,  UK)
