| 8 Day Dual Terrain Motorbike Tour Thailand | ||||

|
Our most popular Motorbike tour by far though the use of the word "tour" hardly seems fitting! Described by past customers as "more like an expedition than a tour" this is the epitome of our motorcycle touring style and for those with minimal off road riding experience we also include off road riding tuition along the way (please see note at bottom page). This is a multi terrain motorcycle tour meaning you will be riding smooth tarmac,
compact clay, dust, dry river beds, multiple river crossings, single
track buffalo trails, with steep ascents and descents within an 14,000
Square kilometer region of one of Thailand's densest jungles and one of
the least populated regions in Thailand very close to the Burmese
border. At no point within this tour will you be subjected to
manufactured tourism of any kind, in fact the chances of ever meeting
another tourist when riding is virtually nil! This is true adventure
tourism concentrating on the ride, and the locale rather than the
destination but most importantly you do not need to be an off road
motorbike superstar! As we said you do
not need to be experienced off road though you do need to be very
comfortable on a bike. Most importantly you must come with the spirit
of off road biking meaning you will be required to pitch in and help
out your fellow riders when required and able take the rough with the
smooth! This is true off road biking on trails used only by farmers
and hill tribe people in very remote regions! The
majority of the time we will stay each evening in small villages with
very little tourist infrastructure meaning high quality hotels are
simply not available and if they were they probably wont lets us in as
we can guarantee you will be turning up very dirty indeed. Saying that
you will not be subjected to poor accommodation! We will be using
small family run guest houses and resorts and for those that want to
get more adventurous on the trails we are able to arrange jungle
accommodation within Thai government/Army run forestry lodges or
refugee NGO stations. Because we judge each route by the ability of the riders we need to ensure that each group has riders of the same ability therefore we will never place experienced off road riders with novice riders! This tour is also available as a private touring option especially suitable for those that want one on one off road training along the route! Road riding on this tourThis Motorbike tour operates around one of the top rated motorcycle roads in the world known as the Mae Hong Son loop involving some of the most exhilarating bends in Thailand. Although this tour concentrates more on off road than road you will ride some of the best sections of this world famous road! This is an 8 day tour with 6 full days riding! Day 1 and Day 8 are your arrival and departure days. Because of the nature of this motorbike tour we need to be sure that this motorbike adventure suits your ability and expectations and we strongly advise you speak to us personally before deciding to take this tour as it is not suitable for everyone. Note regarding off road tuition: This tour includes tips and riding techniques for off road riding only. Before you come on this tour you must hold a full and valid motorcycle licence and be an experienced motorcyclist on road. We are able to offer extended tuition for those with minimum road riding experience please contact us regarding this. IMPORTANT: BY clicking "BOOK THIS TOUR" it will book you on the next available tour date. We advise to click "VIEW ALL TOURS" to select a suitable date.

"Two guides accompanied us and their very different personalities and skills complemented one another perfectly to create an excellent team, in whose capable hands I felt entirely comfortable. Their energies were enthusiastically channelled into ensuring our wellbeing. Our accommodation was not pre booked, giving the flexibility to modify and tailor the route to suit our interests. We were fortunate to be able to extend our tour; having booked a dual terrain trip at short notice we added an extra three days whilst out on the road". Sylvia December 2009
