Carrying on the steep climb to the top for a photo opportunity and a walk around some of the National park a hot spot in Thailand for birds and diverse fauna. Leaving the mountain we make our way to the base and after a brief introduction to the first sections of off road on this trip.
Day 3 Mae Hong SonQuite a long days ride including a little more off road. Distance 170 Kilometers
Cutting through the mountains we follow the main road towards the Burmese border passing Hmong hill tribe villages and farms along the route before heading off road and deeper into the forest for those with little off road experience today will give you more a feel of the riding techniques required for tomorrows ride. heading back onto the main road we find ourselves on a 60 kilometers stretch of motorcycle heaven a road and our favourite stretch on the famous Mae Hong Son Loop. Arriving at our hotel where we check in for 2 nights as we will use this as our base for the coming day. A visit to the hill tribes craft center on our way to dinner.
Day 4 Border runA great day with more challenging terrain.
Leaving around 9am we head just a little way out of town before reaching a beautiful stretch of soft/easy off road to warm you up for the day ahead. Nothing to challenging to begin with but enough to keep you alert passing through a few shallow streams and remote hill tribe villages before an early Lunch 'Thai Style'. Getting onto the Mae Hong Son Loop again we make our way a short but exhilarating ride before heading deeper into the bush to give you a taste of real dirt biking on more adventurous terrain. Heading back to the hotel hopefully before 3 pm for a well deserved break and drinks by the pool.
Day 5 Hill Tribe VillageA great day with more challenging terrain.
As featured on our other Adventure Tour tour as customers have always rated this destination as one of the top spots on our tours. Outstanding views to towards Thailand's highest mountain where we were 3 days previously we have made a giant loop around the biggest mountain range in Thailand . Our destination this evening is 1200 high in the mountains in a superb Hill Tribe Lodge. Evening meal alongside a burning log fire to keep off the mountain chill and in the capable hands of the Karen hill tribes. A chance to witness a day in the life of the mountain people in a true working village.
Day 6 Chiang MaiBack into the city
For those that have relished and enjoyed the dirt riding on this trip we can make our way back to Chiang Mai on an easy off road section or those that have enjoyed the awesome quality and experience of the roads so far can ride Rte 1095 back into Chiang Mai including over 1100 twists and bends. Either route will allow us to arrive into Chiang Mai around 3 pm to your quality 3 star city hotel. This evening we will head into town for a meal in one of the cities finest Thai restaurants.
Day 7 DepartSadly it's time to leave.
Following the end of a superb Dual Terrain tour it's sadly time to leave. Our staff will make arrangements for your transfer to the airport.
Recommendations and notes.
Rated as suitable for at least "Intermediate - Advanced" riders. This route offers a little more technical riding in places without going over the top as we have tried to make it suitable for riders with minimum off road biking experience who are confident enough to take on some more challenging terrain and our team will be there to guide and assist if needed and hopefully pass on some valuable off road riding techniques. Accommodation is of good quality through out with the Hill Tribe village usually the most talked about destination due to it's fantastic location.
Private rooms are included for the first and last night but nights 2-5 are sharing unless you specifically ask us for private rooms on these evenings.
