Based on our Burma Border Motorcycle Tour this has all the best bits but tailored slightly to offer some quality time off the bikes and some self indulgent luxury thrown in. Not quite as full on everyday plus it also includes a little slice of motorcycle tour heaven on the famous Mae Hong Son Loop and will suit people looking for high adventure motorbike touring with some varied highlights thrown in.

Day 2 Mae Sariang Via Thailands Highest mountain.Depart around 9 am. Distance 280 Kilomters
First day of your motorcycle tour. After a safety briefing we head south west of Chiang Mai city towards Thailand's highest mountain before riding onto the dirt and it's a long day of dirt riding, not too challenging but enough for the first days ride to warm you up. Today we will pass through and also stop at many hill tribe villages who will be serving our snacks and cold drinks along the route. Today we urge all riders to ride at a steady constant speed and the tour leader will be setting the pace. Too many riders start off the first day with probably too much enthusiasm only to find half way through the day they are out of energy. Follow our advice and we should arrive at our destination for our first beers while the sun is still shining. A long but a great days start to your Thailand motorbike tour!
Day 3 Burma Border BBQA great days trip today. Distance 90 kilometers.
Chilled out day today with a chance to soak up the atmosphere of a great location alongside the Mighty Salween River north west Thailand. We begin our day with a trip to the local market where we can select the freshest food for our mighty feast tonight of Buffalo, pork, chicken BBQ for a night in the jungle alongside the river splicing Thailand from Burma (Myanmar). Riding to the border we load the bikes onto scorpion tail boats for a 45 minute cruise up the largest un-dammed river in Asia to a very remote stretch of Thailand and a short ride to our base for the evening. Chill out and unwind with a swim in the river or for any budding chefs among us you are more than welcome to lend a hand in our jungle kitchen to prepare the BBQ for tonights feast with the assistance of the Thai Royal Forestry department. Today will give you a glimpse of jungle living though we have arranged simple but comfortable accommodation for you deep in the forest. A great night is always had by all!
Day 4 Mae Hong SonA great days trip today. Distance 190 kilometers.
After a night spent in the jungle lets get you back to some home luxuries but not until we finish one of the best motorbike touring days of the trip! We begin today immediately on dirt tracks deep in the jungle and after only 600 meters you meet the first river of 52 river crossings. This is an awesome stretch of single track trails weaving across a small river deep in a valley surrounded by high mountains. You will get wet and you will love it! After 3 hours riding we stop for quick but early lunch before drying out our wet boots and gear, and the best way for that is to air dry them on a ride on one of the most famous motorcycle roads in the the world, the awesome Mae Hong Son Loop. There is good reason why we move onto the black top on this dirt bike tour and you will see why when you get here. Check into our chic pad, chill out by the pool with a cheeky beer or two. This location will be our base for the next three nights.
Day 5 Chill out dayA day of leisure with options
Tomorrow we have laid on one of the best dirt bike rides in Thailand so lets chill out and spend a day off the bikes and relax ready for that trip. Today you have a few options. Either chill out by the pool or visit some of the local areas in our support vehicle. In the evening we will visit the local Hill tribe market then head into town for a slap up meal.
Day 6 Refugee Camp Burma Border far North WestA day of rivers, refugees and awesome trails.
Heading just a 15 minutes out of town we make our way to the dirt on the most fun days bike ride of this trip. A nice easy stretch to begin with to warm you up followed by 70 kilometers of awesome terrain with single track trails, tight creek riding deep in the jungle and mighty river crossings. You will be glad of the day off yesterday to keep you in fit and active for today's motorbike ride. After a brief visit to the Karen refugee camp we head back into town to our base.
Day 7 Chiang MaiLast days ride and some high forest trails to end the trip. Distance 240 kilometers
Early start today and an almost immediate climb from 190 meters above seal level up to 1800 meters and the cool mountain air on one of the most beautiful scenic off road trails of the trip. A day of keeping a good steady pace today as this can be a long and tiring day to get you back into the bright lights of Chiang Mai city and a night on the town to remember.
Day 8 Depart for AirportSadly the end of a challenging but chilled out dirt bike tour.
Our team will arrange for your 10 minute transfer back to Chiang Mai airport to catch your onward flight.
Recommendations and notes.
Compared to our other 8 day tour this trip offers a more laid back approach but we've kept most of the best routes from that tour into this one so we have not compromised the quality of the trip for the extra luxuries this trip includes such as the time off the bikes etc. This tour has been rated Intermediate - Advanced but we can tailor the trails around to suit most riders abilities even if they do not have any previous off road riding experience but you need to be a competent rider. The Chill Out day is new from 2014 season from past customers recommendations to us however in order to offer the perfect location to spend the chill out day we needed to incorporate half a day on road riding but absolutely nobody has ever complained about this and you will understand why when you see this road.
Private rooms are included for the first and last night but on tour (nights 2-6) are sharing unless you specifically ask us for private rooms on these evenings. Accommodation is good quality though day 3 on the Burmese border accommodation is basic as we are in the jungle though clean/comfortable and with hot showers but this is nicely followed up with 3 days in luxury. For more information about our Dirt bike tours we have made a detailed FAQ explaining the basics of each tour style we operate.
