Thailand is expected to experience drought more seriously in 2010 as a consequence of the El Niño phenomenon. It is stated that the El Niño would cause lower rainfall from the rainy season in 2009 until summer this year and higher temperatures from December 2009 until June 2010 across the Kingdom. A period of unusually dry weather is therefore expected this year.
