Cambodia and some awesome motorcycle touring with plenty of
time in between for R&R in Chiang Mai city (Northern
Thailand), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and last but not east 1
night in Bangkok ( makes a hard man humble
).In our opinion this tour offers two of the most exciting yet contrasting countries in South East Asia with also distinctly contrasting motorcycle adventures. Thailand offers refined yet extremely twisty on road riding contrasting with tight off road trails in a very mountainous region. Cambodia brings things slightly down to earth for a more back to basics adventure on sandy roads to magnificent Khmer temples and ruins rated as some of best in the world.
About the tour
Tour overview...This tour is a combination of our Northern Discovery Tour with a very special tour through Cambodia attached but, it's far more than just a long motorcycle tour. Out of the 27 days we will be riding for 20 days but, this is spaced out with rest days in Chiang Mai Thailand's northern Capital, Bangkok, and Phnom Penh in Cambodia adding a total experience of the rural and urban aspects of both countries so you wont feel to exhausted!
You will be riding with a fixed group riding the complete trip as well as adding in a few others that are not riding the complete tour however, the maximum number at any one time will be 9 riders.
Getting to Cambodia: It is possible to ride into Cambodia from Thailand however, there can be some uncertainties at the border points! Because of this we take a short flight 1 Hour from Bangkok to Phnom Penh where bikes will be waiting for us at our hotel. Although your tour leader from Thailand will usually be riding with you in Cambodia this section of the tour is operated by our Cambodian tour partners Dancing roads .
What to expect...
Both countries in a nutshellFor a biking experience, without a shadow of a doubt Northern Thailand is rated number One in SE Asia into regions that would challenge the very best of riders with one of the friendliest people in the world and a diverse culture dating back centuries before.
Cambodia doesn't offer road riding to the standard of Thailand as roads are still the 'new thing' but, what it does offer is off road riding both easy and challenging and with a difference... There is something about riding Cambodia that makes us want to return year after year. Maybe it's being in the presence of the largest religious monument in the world in a country ravaged by war for over a 1000 years and survived to what is now becoming one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in South East Asia or maybe it's the architecture with influences from The Khmer period and French colonization whatever it is it's difficult to say but either way its a country Motorbike Thailand will certainly be riding over many years to come.
