Information About How Our Motorcycle Tours Operate

On our motorbike tour holiday packages we pretty much deal with everything once you're in Thailand - Below we have set out the basic operation of our bike tours.

Please note Custom Tours may operate differently depending on how we planned it for you - Below is for our standard motorbike Holidays only.

Don't forget; Our tours are all inclusive with the exception of Evening Meal and beers, Flights and travel insurance.

Based on our standard 8 day 7 night 6 days riding schedule

1) Arrange Dates

Don't leave it until you have final numbers for your group!!! - Work out the dates you think will work then contact us and we'll pencil it in - You won't be charged anything and you can change the dates later if needed!! - Your dates will now be reserved and you'll have first refusal.

2) Book Flights

Once your tour date is booked it's Guaranteed!  Book your flights with the final destination Chiang Mai, Thailand (CNX).  We do advise to run the flights by us before you book them as we often get them a little cheaper or with better connections/arrival times.

3) Tour Payment

A 15% deposit is payable when you confirm your final group  numbers. - This can be done securely online or via bank transfer.

Balances paid 3 months before the tour date or we can offer payment on arrival at no extra charge.

4) Arrival Into Chiang Mai

We'll collect your group from Chiang Mai airport and transfer you to your chiang Mai hotel.

Unless otherwise arranged, you will have one night in Chiang Mai - The following morning is the first day of the ride!

5) The Ride

Unless you arranged otherwise, we ride the following morning of your arrival usually departing around 9am -  Your luggage will be taken to that evenings accommodation and throughout the tour.

Depending on the tour, we will be riding (usually) 6 days staying at different locations every evening.  Days 6 we ride back to Chiang Mai to the same hotel you had when you arrived in Chiang Mai.

6) Departure

Check out time is usually around 12 am though we can arrange later if available.  We'll transfer you back to the airport for your departure

Our Advice....

Arrivals

Get the best from your motorcycle holiday - If you have time we strongly suggest to arrive a day earlier giving two nights in Chiang Mai not one night - This is especially important if you arrive on a late flight - Riding the following morning of arrival with jet lag is not a good start to your trip.

We will book an extra night for you and only charge you the price we pay for the hotel - you can even pay the hotel direct.

Money

You will spend very little outside of Chiang mai as on the riding days we cover everything includings, soft drinks, water, snacks and lunch.  The only thing you need to pay for is your evening meal and drinks paid at the end of the evening/following morning.

No credit or debit cards - Cash Only.  We travel to very remote regions most evenings and only cash is accepted at restaurants and bars etc.  There are ATM cash machines on a few areas but do not expect them to always be working or accept your cards so have enough cash before we start the ride.

A average daily budget of around $40USD is more than sufficient for even the biggest eaters/drinkers!

Laundry

Getting laundry done is not an issue - Getting it dried in time before you ride the following morning is always an issue.  We can get laundry done in one or two locations but it's not guaranteed - After two decades we ourselves have given up on laundry so bring enough spare clothes or find the nearest waterfall or hot spring.

Weather

We only ride when the local conditions are perfect for riding Northern Thailand though we can't gurantee it won't rain but of it does it will be only a shower!  Don;t bother packing waterproofs you won't need them.

BUT: Bring warmer clothes for the evenings (after the ride) on every one of our tour dates!  We stay often above 1200m above sea level and it can get very cold.  A hoodie is sufficient and we always suggest long trousers/Pants. You'll find your tour team wearing hoodies, long pants and flip flops most evenings.
